Accommodations

You have three choices of places to stay at Claggett Conference Center. You can see photos of the various buildings at http://www.claggettcenter.org when you click on “Accommodations."

All costs are those set by Claggett, though checks will be made payable to MSTCWDC* (notated Tara 2020); we will then pass on the consolidated payment to Claggett, as they have specified.

*(Note: MSTCWDC is the Mahayana Sutra and Tantra Center of Washington, D.C. and they are kindly helping us with our accounting).

All charges include rooms for the entire stay, bed and bath linens, three meals per day, and the rental of the meeting room plus use of the audio-visual equipment and indoor/outdoor spaces.

Commmuters

Those who wish to stay nearby or commute will be charged a daily $16 commuter fee, as charged by Claggett Conference Center. Motels and Airbnb facilities are available in nearby Adamstown, Germantown, and Frederick, MD, and many camping sites are close by.

Lunch and/or dinner can be pre-ordered by commuters for an extra fee. Claggett must receive the orders for these commuter meals in advance. Please see the section of the registration form for commuters for more information on pre-ordering meals.

For those staying at Claggett, all  meals are included in your accommodations fee.

Commuters must also register and pre-pay for meals and the day-use fee by using the registration form available for download on the Registration page.

Payment

Your registration will be complete when we receive your completed registration form along with a check for 25% of your total room payment. This is, according to Claggett policy, a non-refundable deposit. So, for example, 25% of $754 for a cottage space is $188.

You will find details on the registration form. You will find two options; one is for simply paying the deposit and the other is for those who wish to make a full payment at this time, and/or a donation in support of the event and/or the financial assistance fund.

If cancellation becomes necessary after full payment has been made, we will attempt to fill your space and refund your payment, less the 25% non-refundable deposit. If we can’t fill your space, no refund will be made. After March 2, all fees are non-refundable.

In summary:

1. A 25% non-refundable deposit (Claggett Center policy) is to be submitted by check with your completed registration form.

2. The balance is due 120 days prior to event, December 5, 2019. Please ensure that we have your full payment by this date so we will be able to hold the space for you.

3. If cancellation becomes necessary after full payment has been made, we will attempt to fill your space and refund your payment, less the 25% non-refundable deposit. If we can’t fill your space, no refund will be made. After March 2, all fees are non-refundable.

4. Make checks out payable to MSTCWDC with the notation Tara 2020. Then mail the check and registration form to Mike Young, 8426 Blevins Way Court, Vienna, VA 22182.

Financial Assistance

We will raise as much funding as we can to be able to offer financial assistance to those who need it to attend this event. Whatever amount we raise will be divided equally amongst those who apply, both ordained and lay practitioners.

If anyone wishes to make a donation specifically to help monks and nuns with their expenses for rooms, please contact Tenzin Lhamo at anitenmo@yahoo.com

To apply for financial aid, please write a brief explanation of your need for financial assistance and send it to info@Tara2020.com. Your application will be submitted to the members of the Planning Committee.

Donations

Your kind support enables us to keep costs as low as possible for all those wishing to attend. The areas needing donations include our group thank-you offerings to Khensur Rinpoche, his attendants, and our translator; preparation of materials needed for the empowerment; altar offerings and flowers; funding for those who need financial assistance to attend; and support for ordained sangha who want to attend and would deeply appreciate help doing so.

This donation is separate from individual "envelopes" to the teacher, translator, and Sangha traditionally offered at the conclusion of the teachings. You can include your donation to help organizers with meeting the costs of the event on your registration form. No one will be turned away if unable to do this, but your support is needed and appreciated.

You can also become a Benefactor of these teachings by making a donation to support the event. If you would like to do this, please email Tenzin Lhamo at info@Tara2020.com.
